If the camera is not turning on, you can put it on the charging station to see if the battery is fully charged. The battery can be charged through a PC or an outlet.

To test your battery charger, insert the charger into the right-side port of the camera labeled “charge.” If the camera is charging, a red light will appear on the side of the LCD screen. A flashing red light means you are charging in temperatures that aren’t ambient (between 50-86 F). If no light appears and the camera is still not turning on, the charging cord may be damaged. Try to obtain a new charging cord.

If the camera is not turning on it could be that the card/battery door is open or the battery is not fully locked in. If this is true, insert the battery all the way in and lock the card/battery door.

If your camera is still not powering on after fully charging, the battery may be dirty. If this is the case, use a Q-tip and a drop of ethanol or rubbing alcohol, and clean the contacts of the battery (where the battery will connect to the camera). Then proceed to reinsert the battery and try turning the camera on.

If the camera is not turning on it could be that the battery is not in. Check the card/battery door to see if your battery is in its correct compartment.

If you turn off your camera and the lens attempts to close, but fails to, dirt or sand may be in the lens. In order to remove the debris, use a can of compressed air to blow it away or a small brush to wipe it. Be careful not to let the dirt go near the lens in the front, as it may scratch it. Try to turn your camera off again. If the lens still does not retract, try to slip pieces of paper between components in the lens. Be careful not to tear the paper when doing this.

If you do not believe that debris is in the lens, you may just need to reset the camera. To do this, turn off your camera, remove the battery and let the camera sit for 30 seconds. Place the battery back into the camera and turn it back on.

If nothing else seems to be wrong, the lens assembly may be broken. The assembly should then be removed and replaced. The guide for this replacement can be found here.

If your LCD screen is no longer showing images that you are taken or previously taken images and videos, your screen may be damaged. To replace your LCD Screen, follow our guide here.

 If the LCD screen is not turning on, you may just need to reset the camera. To do this, turn off your camera, remove the battery and let the camera sit for 30 seconds. Place the battery back into the camera and turn it back on.

If your LCD screen is black when trying to take pictures or videos, but you are able to view previously taken pictures or videos, your camera sensor may be damaged. Click here to follow our guide on replacing your camera sensor.

On the LCD screen, a window should appear if your memory card is full. If this window pops up then you need to put in a new memory card.

If the camera is not taking pictures, a window will pop up saying that there is no memory card in the camera. If this window pops up, you need to insert a memory card.
