Step 1
Remove Bottom Screws
- Remove the four 4-mm screws on the bottom of the camcorder.
- The screws are two different colors: three blacks and one silver.

- Remove the three 6-mm screws on the hand-strap side of the camera.

Remove DC Input Terminal Screws
- Pull out the charging port (DC input terminal) cover and remove the 4-mm screw located next to the input terminal.

Remove LCD Monitor Screws
- Flip out the LCD screen to expose the inner screws. Remove the two black 4-mm screws.
- One screw is located by the hinge of the LCD screen. The second is close to the upper-right corner of the camcorder body.

Detach Casing from Body
- Using a firm hold on both sides of the camcorder, gently pull apart the casing under the hand strap.
- Pressure should be evenly distributed across entire device.
- Detach gently so the ribbon cable is not damaged!

Detach Ribbon Cable from Body
- Use tweezers to grab the ribbon cable at the connection point and slowly lift it away from the connector.
- This linkage point connects the HDD directly to the motherboard.

- Unscrew the two black 4 mm screws from metal casing around the motherboard.

- Remove the black 4 mm screw from the back of the camcorder underneath where the battery would have been.

- Pull the plastic cover on the back out and up slightly until the back feels like it’s free, then pull back on the plastic (The top cover piece and back will be detached).

Front Cover and Midframe
- Remove the black 4 mm screw located on the back of the camcorder under the SD card slot.

- There is a small copper ribbon on the right side of the device. Pull gently with the tweezers upward from the right side to get the copper ribbon free.

- Unscrew the silver 4 mm screw from on top of the camcorder.

- Pry upwards on the front cover from the top of the device and with your other hand pull straight out on the front of the device (The front cover will be detached and free).

- Remove the 6 mm screw on the top of the metal casing which was under the front cover.

- Unlock the forward most copper ribbon cable using the spudger, then detach the two ribbon cables, either by using your hand or the tweezers.

- Remove the black 4 mm screw underneath the motherboard.

- Pull the plastic casing under the motherboard down slightly as you slide the motherboard and metal under the motherboard out slowly.
- The copper ribbon cable is still attached.

- Unlock the copper ribbon cable using the spudger then gently detach the third cobber ribbon cable using your hand that is connected on the motherboard.

- The final step to get the motherboard completely free and ready to replace is taking out the two copper colored 4 mm screws that connect the motherboard from the metal piece below it.
