I want to navigate my Xbox 360, but my controller refuses to connect or will not stay connected for long.
First check to see if your controller is fully connected to the gaming system. If the controller seems to be connected try unplugging and then re-plugging the device back into the console.
The cable to the controller may be torn/frayed or the connector pins in the controller may be damaged. This will interfere with the controllers ability to connect to the Xbox 360 console. Check out the Cable Replacement Guide so you can replace the damaged cable.
Even when controller is plugged in and working, the lights will not turn on.
Your LEDs might be burnt out. When the controller has been used for a long time it can build up heat and melt the solder on the LEDs. Check out our LED Replacement Guide to see how to get to the LEDs on the controller working again.
During game play, I am not able to fully enjoy my gaming experience because I am experiencing issues with the buttons.
Check for dirt build-up on your controller. Purchase keyboard cleaner to remove dirt from the buttons. To eliminate sticky buttons, place the controller back into the box after use. Avoid eating, drinking while using the controller to avoid food/drink spills.
You will need to get new buttons. Buy new buttons and follow the button replacement guide here.
Check the connection between the controller and the Xbox 360. There may be an internal problem with the wiring that causes the buttons to not be picked up by the console.
My controller has lost some/all ability to vibrate
The next thing you should do is check the settings on your game to enable the vibration. It may simply be turned off.
Some games do not support vibration and therefore your device will not vibrate. Please check the instruction manual that came with the case to see if the game supports vibration.
Another possible problem could be that your vibration motor is broken and needs to be replaced. Please follow our Motor Replacement Guide to replace this part. Good luck!
