What you need

Step 1

              Side Access Panel               
  • Press the green release button on top of the side access panel.
  • Pull off the side access panel to get inside the computer.
  • When putting the side access panel back on, make sure that the bottom of the panel lines up with the rail on the bottom, and that the chassis is locked with the green latches.

Step 2

              Opening the Chassis               
  • Lay the computer on its side, ensuring that where the side access panel was is facing up.

Step 3

  • Unlock the top chassis by moving the two green locking latches upward and outward.
  • Using the handle, gently swing the top chassis up and out until it rests firmly on the work surface.

Step 4

              PCI Card(s)               
  • Unscrew the Phillips screw holding the PCI card in place.
  • Remove it.
  • Repeat this step for other PCI cards.
  • If you remove all the PCI cards and/or port access covers, make sure the sheet metal shield remains underneath the edge of the logic board.

Step 5

              I/O Card               
  • Remove the screw at the back of the computer holding the I/O card in place.

Step 6

  • Remove the two screws inside the computer securing the I/O card to the metal chassis.
  • Gently lift up the I/O card to remove it from the computer.

Step 7

              Processor Module Wire Screw               
  • Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the screw on the logic board holding the processor module wire in place.
  • When screwing down the wire, be careful not to damage the capacitor next to the screw hole.

Step 8

              Logic Board               
  • Disconnect any and all cables connected to the logic board.
  • Remove the screw near the RAM securing the logic board in place.

Step 9

  • Release the two plastic latches at the front of the logic board.
  • Slide the logic board away from the back of the computer to get the ports out of the I/O panel.
  • Remove the logic board.

Remove the logic board.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
