What you need

Step 1

              Side Access Panel               

• Press the green release button on top of the side access panel.
• Pull off the side access panel to get inside the computer.
• When putting the side access panel back on, make sure that the bottom of the panel lines up with the rail on the bottom, and that the chassis is locked with the green latches.

Step 2

              Hard Drive Assembly               

• Unscrew the two Phillips screws holding the hard drive in place.
• The hard drive and its carrier should come off together.

• Unplug the IDE and Molex cables from the hard drive.
• Be sure to be careful when removing the IDE cable so as to not damage the pins on the hard drive. (Instead of yanking it, pry it off from side to side.)

Step 4

              Floppy Drive Bezel               

• Gently pry up the tab on the left side of the floppy drive bezel.
• Swing the bezel open.
• Remove the bezel from the right edge of the floppy drive.

Remove the bezel from the right edge of the floppy drive.

Step 5

              Floppy Drive Shield               

• Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the two floppy drive shield screws.
• Remove the floppy drive shield.

Remove the floppy drive shield.

Step 6

              Floppy Drive Assembly               

• Disconnect the floppy drive cable from the back of the floppy drive.
• Slide the floppy drive carrier and drive out of the front of the computer.
• Replacement Note: When inserting the drive into the computer, make sure the drive carrier aligns with the carrier guides. The carrier should slide between five metal tabs below and two metal tabs above the left and right edges of the carrier.

Disconnect the floppy drive cable from the back of the floppy drive.

Slide the floppy drive carrier and drive out of the front of the computer.

Replacement Note: When inserting the drive into the computer, make sure the drive carrier aligns with the carrier guides. The carrier should slide between five metal tabs below and two metal tabs above the left and right edges of the carrier.

Step 7

              Top Cover               

• Release the three tabs holding the top cover by pushing the front tab toward the back of the unit and the back two tabs toward the front of the unit.
• Slide the top cover toward the stationary panel side to remove it from the chassis.

Slide the top cover toward the stationary panel side to remove it from the chassis.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
