Step 1
Power rack&pinion steering
- From inside the vehicle on drivers side use a 11mm socket to remove the three nuts that secure the boot to the firewall
- Using a 10mm sockstRemove the two pinch bolts form the shaft and remove shaft & boot

Step 2
- raise and support the front of the vehicle
- place the jack stands in the reinforced area just behind the engine cradle
- Use a 19mm socket remove both front tires
- remove the cotter pin and castle nuts from tie rod ends
- remove tie rod ends from steering knuckle

Step 3
- remove the two Nuts and Bolts that secured flex pipe to the y pipe
- From inside the engine compartment remove the three nuts that secure the strut to the strut Tower on both sides
- place a floor jack with a short piece of 2 by 6 under the transmission pan
- Raise Jack until it just starts to lift the transmission

Step 4
- loosen the two front bolts of the subframe but do not remove
- remove the two Bolts from the rear of the subframe
- Slowly lower jack in till you have about 4 inches of clearance
- Remove the two nuts that secure the steering rack to the subframe
- Lift the steering rack up until the bolts clear rotate rack to gain access to the hose fittings and remove
- Slide rack to the left and remove thru drivers side wheel well

remove the two Bolts from the rear of the subframe
Slowly lower jack in till you have about 4 inches of clearance
Remove the two nuts that secure the steering rack to the subframe
Lift the steering rack up until the bolts clear rotate rack to gain access to the hose fittings and remove
Slide rack to the left and remove thru drivers side wheel well
Step 5
- Transfer any parts needed from old rack to the new rack
- Install in reverse order
