The device is not responding to controller input
Ensure that the battery is installed on the device. Place the Slipstream WiFi on a flat and level surface. Then power on the controller. The blue and red lights on the device and indicator light on the controller should flash. Using the device controller, move the left analog stick up and down. Two audible beeps should be heard when the device is successfully synchronized. The lights on the device and indicator light on the controller should be steady on and not flashing. Your device should now be synchronized.
Ensure that the battery is fully charged and properly installed in the battery housing. If the battery is not charged, then charge the battery.
Ensure that the batteries in the controller are fully charged. If not fully charged, replace the batteries held in the back of the controller.
While hovering the device drifts to one direction and will not hover in place.
Trimming for left or right drift:
If the device drifts to the left or right unintentionally, then adjust the trim by pushing in and holding the throttle and moving the right analog stick (direction stick) in the opposite direction of the drift until it evens out.
Trimming for forward and backward drift:
If the device drifts forward and backward unintentionally, then adjust the trim by pushing in and holding the throttle and moving the right analog stick (direction stick) in the opposite direction of the drift until it evens out.
Note: After trim adjustments, if the device still drifts or crashes refer to Device Keeps Crashing or is Unstable section.
During flight the device is unstable or crashes.
If the device crashes or continues to drift after adjustments to the trim settings, then you can re-calibrate the altitude sensor in the device. Note: make sure device is on a flat and level surface before continuing. Turn on the device and sync the controller and the device. Push and hold the throttle and direction sticks to the lower right corners. The lights will flash and the remote will beep to indicate that the device’s altitude sensor is re-calibrated. If it still drifts, refer back to Trim Setting Requires Adjustment for fine-tuning of drift.
If the device still continues to drift erratically or crashes and you have re-calibrated the altitude sensor and adjusted the trim settings, then you will want to contact Protocol as they currently do not have a replacement part for the altitude sensor.
The device is responding intermittently or erratically to control inputs.
If the device does not seem to be responding correctly or is responding erratically to controller inputs, then your controller batteries could be nearly depleted. Replace controller batteries.
If the device does not seem to be responding correctly or is responding erratically to controller inputs, then your device’s battery could be nearly depleted. Charge device’s battery.
Your phone will not connect to the slipstream WiFi signal.
Open the WiFi settings on your phone and locate the WiFi for the device. Tap and hold the WiFi name for the device and then tap “modify”. Under “advanced” change the IP settings from DHCP to Static. Then set the IP address to “192.168.1.1”, Gateway to “192.168.0.1”, network prefix length to “24”, DNS1 to “8.8.8.8”, and DNS2 to “8.8.4.4”. Then tap “save.” Then tap “connect.” Your phone will send you a prompt telling you there is no internet and asking if you want to stay connected; tap “yes.”
Note: The steps to access the IP Address on your phone may differ depending on the phone model. Refer to your phones’ use manual for instructions on accessing the IP Address.
If you cannot get your phone to connect to Slipstream’s WiFi after you have changed your phone’s IP settings, then try to sync the controller and device again. Refer to Device and Controller Are Not Synchronized section for details on how to synchronize the controller and the device. After you have synchronized the controller and device then proceed to open the app and try to connect to Slipstream’s WiFi.
