- Begin the process by using a PH00 Phillips screw driver.
- Remove the two 1.2mm x 3mm screws at the bottom of the tablet.

- Use the iFixit plastic opening tool to pry open the back of the tablet.
- Do not remove the back case completely as tape has to be removed from the wires, and pulling the case apart can tear off the wires.

- Remove the tape connecting the battery to the motherboard.
- Save the tape in good condition for the replacement so the wires do not get stuck in the case.

- Remove the black tape attaching the wires to the battery.

- Use the plastic opening pick in order to remove the battery from the tablet, and set it aside for the replacement.
- The removed wires will have to be soldered back on to the motherboard.
