No outside tools are needed for the replacement process.

Pinion Gear
- Unscrew by turning the cap counter-clockwise until it is separated from the spinning reel.

Step 2
- Remove the spool line completely by pulling it away from the reel body.

- Remove the gear by pulling it up and off of the pinion.
- Replace the pinion gear with your new one by aligning the shape of the gear opening and the pinion.

- Place the spool back onto the pinion.
- Ensure that the spool is fitted properly.

- Place the spool release and drag adjustment piece back onto the top of the pinion.

- Screw the spool release and drag adjustment back into place in a clockwise direction until desired tension is achieved.
