The computer’s cursor doesn’t respond to trackpad input.

This is likely due to a software issue failing to alert the trackpad and the rest of the computer. After a couple seconds, a dialog box titled “Synaptics Touchpad Enhancements” should appear (Razer Support). Press Alt + Tab to activate the dialog box and the issue should be resolved.

If you have owned and used your Razer Blade for a while, the cable connecting the trackpad to the motherboard may be disconnected or damaged. Turn the computer around and unscrew the back to access the circuitry. Check the ribbon cable connecting the trackpad to the motherboard and reconnect or replace as necessary.

Razer uses a program called Synapse to calibrate the user’s trackpad. Sometimes, this software may fail or become out of date and limit the trackpad’s capability. If this is the case, try restarting the computer. If this does not work, connect a wired mouse to the computer and install the latest version of Synapse: https://www.razer.com/synapse-3.

The laptop has trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi connectivity issues are almost never due to a complete computer failure. Your computer can be connected to your router/modem but is still unable to access the Internet because the router/modem itself is not connected to the Internet. Make sure the router/modem is connected to the Internet; if it is not, reconnect it to the Internet. If you cannot connect to the Internet, you likely have an issue with your Internet provider.

The pointer lags when dragging it across the screen

This issue occurs because Windows 8.1 processes mouse input differently than before to ensure low-latency. To solve this issue, Microsoft recommends that you install update rollup 2903939. After installing, restart your computer and the problem should be resolved.

When attempting to upgrade to Windows 10, the installation fails

If an error message reading “C1900101-30018 Windows Update ran into a problem” appears on the screen after attempting to install Windows 10, it is likely because your computer has not met all the Microsoft and Razer requirements for Windows 10. You can find the Razer requirements here: ++www.razersupport.com/downloads++. Make sure you install all of the necessary drivers.  Be sure to close all programs and ensure a stable Internet connection before installing the OS again (Razer Support).

The audio coming from your headphones sounds distorted

If the headphone jack does not work after upgrading your device to Windows 10, try running the default troubleshooter for audio devices.  Press the Windows Key and enter ‘troubleshoot’ in the prompt. After this, press enter on your keyboard. A panel will shortly open and on the left side of the panel, press ‘view all’ and run the ‘Playing Audio’ troubleshooter.

The display is dark when it shouldn’t be

This issue is caused by an internal software error with the computer. As with most computer issues, turning the device completely off and then back on should resolve the issue.
