              Razer Megalodon – Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound USB Gaming Headset Maelstrom Wiring Repair               
  • To get to the maelstrom wiring you must first pull off the plastic cover.
  • To do this roll the maelstrom over so the rubber cover on the back is facing up. The rubber pad simply peels off exposing the metal backplate.
  • Then remove the four 8.5mm screws on the back plate of the maelstrom.

Step 2

  • Once the four screws are removed, the top cover can be lifted off.
  • There is a ribbon wire connecting the volume wheel to the circuit board. This is not permanently attached, and can be plugged back in if it gets pulled out.
  • Remove the three 2mm screws from the circuit board to separate it from the back plate.

Step 3

  • The circuit board is now completely separate from the housing and the wires can now be inspected.
  • Peel back the tape on the wires to inspect any damage to the wires if there is any.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Well for the last step the wires I peeled the wires by burning them on a gas ranger. Worked Perfectly.
