Step 1

              Check the electrical connections in the socket               

• Open the socket to check the connections.
• This wire connection should be reconnected.

              Open one side of the device               

• Open one side of the device.
• Remove the protective plate.
• Remove the old mica-flakes.

              Renew the cable lugs               

• Install new cable ends and cable lugs.

              Replace the mica-sheet               

• Cut new mica sheets to size. These form an electrical insulator and at the same time a heat conductor with the protective plate.
• Assemble the protective plate and mount this side back on the waffle iron.
• Repeat these steps on the other side of the waffle maker.

Step 5

              Put the waffle iron back together               

• Follow the instructions in reverse order to reassemble the waffle iron.
• Now get to work… baking waffles the grandmotherly way! Enjoy your meal!

Dag Pierre, ik heb een identiek of zeer vergelijkbaar wafelijzer model dat ik probeer te repareren na wat leek op een intern kortsluiting evenement. Je gids ziet er heel duidelijk uit!

Ik zit weliswaar een beetje vast met de mica vellen die vervangen moeten worden. Het is me niet meteen duidelijk aan de schilfers van de huidige vellen hoeveel lagen er juist in zaten of horen te zitten. Is dit slechts 1 laag per kant? Daarnaast zijn bij mij de schilfers net zoals op je foto transparant, maar de nieuwe vellen niet?

Ik ben ook niet bekend met dit product dus ik weet niet goed waar ik op moet letten(eigenschappen als dikte, isolerend/warmtegeleidende eigenschappen,…?) als ik nieuwe vellen koop en waar ik deze best en redelijk goedkoop kan kopen (lokale hobbywinkel als een Brico/Gamma of eerder een webshop?).

Dag Matthias,

Vooreerst bedankt voor je complimenten. Ik vermoed dat je de oude mica schilfers terug mag gebruiken, dat zou normaal geen probleem mogen zijn. Zelf heb ik die mica vellen gevonden via een lange zoektocht op internet en weet even niet uit het hoofd waar ik die vond. Zeker niet in een gewone doe het zelf zaak. Ik kijk in de loop van deze week eens of ik die gegevens terug vind.
