              Repairing Canon PowerShot Lens Error E-18               
  • Place camera lens facing upwards on the table.
  • Press and hold down the power button.
  • Simultaneously press down the shutter button.

  • Replace the batteries in the camera.
  • To open the battery cover slide the black lever on the underside of the camera and pull the cover toward the front.
  • Remove the old batteries from the camera and wait a few moments.
  • Put in a fresh set of batteries.
  • Close battery slide and power camera back on.

Step 3

  • Put blow dryer in the “no heat” setting prior to plugging it in.
  • Plug in and turn the blow dryer on.
  • Blow air in the gaps between the lens.

In conclusion, using this guide to fix the E-18 on the lens of the Canon PowerShot A80,will allow the camera to capture photos once again. To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
