  • Turn the Hungry Cat Savings Bank off.
  • Using a coin, remove the cap covering the change storage.
  • Use a standard Phillips screwdriver #0 to remove the screw holding the battery cover in place.

  • Empty all change from the Hungry Cat Savings Bank, or it will drive you bonkers during repair.

  • Remove the battery cover and batteries.

  • Remove the four screws holding the cover in place. You’ll need a traditional Phillips screwdriver, not a screwdriver set, to reach fully into the wells.

  • Turn over savings bank and slide case up. You might need to grab the base to pull it apart.

  • Locate the jam. You might need to temporarily put in the batteries to activate the arm, so you can find the jam.

  • Remove the coin using a set of tweezers.

My one will not stop once it has grabbed a coin , the paw keeps coming out and it has to be turned off at the switch. And he doesn’t meow anymore.

I don’t have my box in front of me, but it sounds like the tray isn’t returning to the rest position fully. When you disassemble it, is there anything preventing the tray (where you put the quarter) from smoothly returning to rest position?
