  • Do your printed papers have these or similar vertical black and yellow lines?
  • Then this is the tutorial for you to make them disappear

Step 2

  • Open the printer front and take everything out
  • Take out the toners
  • Take out the drum together with the waste bin

  • Your printer should now look like in the image attached
  • Use a flashlight to see inside the printer
  • On the glossy black plastic you will see vertical lines of color which are the cause of your printers problem

  • Use a small white paper and try to stick it into the top - like shown
  • Move it from left to right and drag it out again
  • You will see that it is pretty dirty afterwards
  • Do this multiple times and clean the black glossy plastic with a cotton cloth - be careful not to scratch it

  • Close the printer again and print some pages
  • After the 2nd or 3rd the black vertical lines should be gone completely
  • Have fun - again!

Michael I have a thick horizontal line that repeats as a Ghost image. Will this help fix it? I have tried cleaning the paper track and the rollers etc, with no such luck.

same here, if i print a blank page it has various horizontal shadows and looks dirty

My printer was many years practically only B&W because of awful colors. This trick helped to restore colors. Thank you!

Step 4: you can also clean the bottom (and not only the top) of the black glossy plastic: it was the root cause of my black lines
