Introduction

Since Teufel is not a very big company, I thought to myself that it was definitely not a custom battery but something off the shelf. This is also the case and the battery is very easy to change

What you need

Step 1

              Find a replacement battery
  • Find a replacement battery. The original battery is an EVE 622632 Lithium Polymer (Lipo) battery with 3.7V 600mAh, size 33x25x5mm. I couldn’t find them in Germany.
  • A slightly larger battery is a replacement battery for a Logitech Mx Master 2 mouse
  • Unfortunately, the connector is not identical and must be resoldered

Step 2

              Open the Housing
  • The ear pads are clipped in all around. Carefully pry out with a plastic spatula.
  • Loosen 4 Phillips screws and carefully lift the loudspeaker upwards.
  • The cable on the speaker is long enough to lay it next to it
  • The battery is on the side where the ANC switch (noise canceling on/off) is. (ANC slider marked with arrow in the picture)
  • The side with the USB connection does not have to be opened
  • The battery is under the green circuit board. The circuit board has a small cutout. Carefully turn the circuit board until the cutout is under a plastic tab. Then the circuit board can be lifted out

Step 3

              Change Battery
  • The original battery is stuck down with double-sided tape and can be carefully levered out.
  • Because the plug does not fit, pinch off the original plug
  • The same applies to the spare battery
  • The spare battery comes with an extra cable (white). This is for a temperature sensor, but the headphones don’t use it. So simply cut off with the block
  • Solder the original connector to the replacement battery. Red-to-red, black-to-black.
  • Cover the solder joint with shrink tubing

Step 4

              Assembly
  • The replacement battery is slightly larger than the original. But the aluminum case can be gently pressed with your fingers so that the battery fits perfectly into the holder
  • Secure with double-sided tape
  • There is black foam rubber on the original battery. This can be snapped off and glued to the spare battery
  • Glue the battery in place, plug the connector into the circuit board and hook the circuit board back under the plastic tabs.
  • Make sure that the ANC on/off slider is hooked into the circuit board
  • Put the loudspeaker back on and screw it on with the four screws
  • Clip on the ear pads, done.
