Introduction

Sand belts need to be replaced after regular use of the device. Factors that could lead to belt deterioration include moisture, condensation, exposure to excessive cold and heat. The usable life of the sand belt depends on the material being sanded.

Before working on the RIDGID Belt Sander make sure the power tool is unplugged or disconnected from any power source. Failure to do so may result in electrocution or personal injury while removing the sand belt. Make sure to read through this guide for additional information before beginning the replacement of the RIDGID Belt Sander R2740 sand belt.

Step 1

              Sand Belt               
  • Orient the device with the underside of the sander exposed and facing you.

  • Pull the lever located on the right side of the sander all the way back.

Step 3

  • Gently remove the belt from the sander.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
