The drill does not turn on with a fully charged battery.
Ensure the battery is fully charged. If the battery is fully charged but your drill does not turn on, your battery may not be functioning correctly. Try using a new battery to test the probability that your current battery works.
The motor is a critical part of the drill in order for it to turn on. Ensure that the charger and the battery are working properly. If the charger or battery are not faulty, you may have trouble with the motor. Take the motor apart and replace it with a new one.
The chuck does not turn or switch directions when the power is on.
The switches control which way the chuck will turn. If the chuck does not move left or right, there may be something impeding its movements. Check around the switch for any particles or dust and thoroughly clean the area.
Turn on the drill to check for any unusual noises coming from the chuck. This could be a sign that the chuck is no longer functioning properly. You will need to replace the chuck in order for it to rotate properly.
The drill continues to turn or spin when you released the trigger.
If the drill continues to rotate even after you stopped pressing the switch, there may be something around the part that triggers the rotation. Take out the battery to completely stop the drill and clean around the switch. Turn on the drill again and test if it is working correctly.
If the chuck continues to spin and you have checked for particles around the switch assembly, then check if there are any wear or tear. Sometimes cracks on the chuck will result in the drill not turning properly and it will stop working. If the chuck is in good condition, you may need to replace the switch assembly.
The drill continues to turn in one direction and would not switch directions when you pull the switch.
The direction of rotation selector is the part that controls the movement of the chuck. If the drill continues to move in one direction, even after you have switched the rotation selector, then there may be debris that prevents it from fully clicking. Check around the direction of rotation selector for any dust. If it seems to be stuck due to debris, make sure to clean it well.
If the chuck is not rotating correctly in the position you desire, there may be a problem with your direction of rotation selector. You will need to take the drill apart in order to replace the rotation selector with a new component.
