No matter how long it is connected to charger it still loses life faster than it should.
Ensure that the charger is plugged in and functioning. If the light indicator does not light up, there may be a problem with your battery. You can replace your battery using this guide.
Computers need to rest just as must as we do, it is best to turn them off periodically and in between uses. If your Chromebook is not keeping its charge, and you have ensured that your battery is not the problem, try giving your Chromebook some time to rest by leaving it off for a few hours.
Typically, laptops, including your Chromebook Pro, have their air vents on the underside. This can lead to restricted air flow if left sitting on non-breathable surfaces. Avoid keeping your Chromebook on blankets or pillows to allow for proper airflow of the device.
Plugging in the cable does not charge the Chromebook.
If the cables are damaged and inner wires visible, seek a replacement. Ensure replacing any damaged adapters.
To fix a corrupted port, the port must be cleaned out and any dust must be removed. If that doesn’t help, try using another cable besides the original cable to see if the problem is with the cables. If the problem persists it may be the port itself and not the cables.
If you know that your Chromebook port and cables are functioning properly, then try using another wall outlet.
When plugged in the battery indicator does not change.
When your charger is plugged into your Chromebook and is not at fault, but the charging icon does not reflect the charge. A soft reset of your Chromebook can help this issue.
Check the voltage of both your charger and the battery of your Chromebook by locating the Wattage. If the chargers Wattage is lower than what the Chromebook’s battery requires, obtain a new charger with a more adequate wattage.
Your Chromebook Pro is on, but there is no picture or a very dark one.
Ensure that your brightness is not at its lowest setting by pressing the brightness up button located in the topmost row on your keyboard, it should look something like a large sun.
If your screen isn’t dimmed, and the picture is out of focus, blurry, or grainy, there could be a problem with your video drivers. Try updating your drivers using this site. (Insert driver website)
Camera is not working or showing an image during use.
The issue may be solved with a simple restart of the your Chromebook Pro. To restart the Chromebook, hold down CTRL+ALT+DELETE at the same time. A menu should appear, select the red power icon on the lower-right corner and select restart.
The issue may not be the Chromebook itself, it may be the app you are trying to use. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app may solve this problem. To uninstall an app, locate the search menu on the left-corner of your screen. Find the app you are trying to use the camera on and right-click the app icon. Click Uninstall or Remove from Chrome. A message should pop up and select remove. To reinstall the app, open the Chrome Web Store and search for the app you are trying to reinstall. When you locate the app, select the app and click add to Chrome.
Restoring your Chromebook settings to the original factory setting may solve this problem. Before taking this step ensure that all important documents are backed up. When conducting a system reset your documents, settings, files and apps may be erased from the hard drive. On your Home Screen, click your account picture that is located on the lower-right corner of the screen. A menu will appear, click on the Settings Tab, and that will make another window appear. Click on Show Advanced Settings, and then locate the Powerwash Label and select Reset. A window should appear, and Restart needs to be selected.
No sound is coming from the speakers when trying to play media or watch content.
On the upper-right of the keyboard locate the Mute key; it has a sound icon with a slash across it. Push the key to ensure the Chromebook is not on mute. Also make sure the speaker volume is not lowered, press the sound key on the right top corner of the keyboard to increase volume. There is also another Volume Button located on the right side of the Chromebook Pro, next to the Power Button.
Completely resetting your Chromebook Pro will reset all sound settings and may fix the problem. On your Home Screen, click your account picture that is located on the lower-right corner of the screen. A menu will appear, click on the Settings Tab, and that will make another window appear. Click on Show Advanced Settings, and then locate the Powerwash Label and select Reset. A window should appear, and Restart needs to be selected.
Sometimes the audio option needs to be manually selected on the Chromebook Pro. On your Home Screen at the lower-right corner of the screen click your account picture. A menu will appear, find the sound tab and click the arrow. It will lead you to a sound output/input menu. Ensure your Chromebook Pro audio selection is correct. The output options are Headphones or Speaker (Internal), if audio is wanted through the speakers then select the Speaker (Internal) option. If audio is wanted using headphones, then select the Headphone option. The Chromebook Pro does not recognize if headphones are inputted at times, so the selection must be made manually.
The SD card is in the computer, but the computer is not showing that the card is present.
When inserting an SD card into the Chromebook Pro, ensure that the SD card pins are toward the keyboard.
The Samsung Chromebook Pro supports four kind of SD cards, the Micro SD, the Micro SDHC, and the Micro SDXC. Make sure the SD card is one of the following stated above.
If you have the correct SD card and have inserted it correctly and the Chromebook is still not reading it, the problem maybe that the slot is damaged. To fix the SD Card slot refer to this guide.
