Attention Fixers! If you purchase this replacement headphone jack from iFixit, there’s a chance that yours comes with a black plastic clip that covers the headphone plug socket. You’ll need to remove this plastic clip first before attempting to install your new headphone jack.

Thank you Mr. Degnan for this! I worked. Don’t forget to take your time, try using adhesive remover and alcohol afterwards before putting cover on with new adhesive. Even you are firm but not forceful and go around with the picks several times, it will come off. Use the right screwdriver 00 size and don’t forget to disconnect battery! Test it before putting back in place.
