              Description of the problem               
  • This guide applies when the control panel of your Samsung fridge is starting to act up.
  • In my case it was unresponsive to some buttons and the display showed incomplete digits
  • This might be relevant for a number of models.

Step 2

              Control panel               
  • In you want, you can pop out the control panel by putting a knife behind it.
  • This is not necessary but helps to identify the connections. In my case, pressing the top button connected connector pin 1 to ground (pin7) via a 10k resistor.

Step 3

              Wiring issue               
  • The problem in my case was the wiring loom that runs through the top hinge of the fridge door.
  • As you can see it is broken in multiple places. Its design is a bit poor as the plastic in the hinge is too sharp.
  • You can fix it by soldering and covering the connections in shrink tubing.
