Despite your best efforts, the camera will not power on.

If the camera will not turn on, make sure your battery is charged. If the battery will not charge, try replacing the battery with this guide.

Your camera may actually be on, but the screen may not be working properly. Try replacing the screen.

The flash is turned on in the settings, but the light doesn’t illuminate.

Make sure your battery is sufficiently charged. If not, your flash may not illuminate.

The bulb may be burned out. Try replacing it with this guide.

The power source for the flash could be defective. Try using this guide to replace it.

When you press the shutter button, the camera doesn’t take a picture.

There are several shooting modes. Make sure you do not have your camera on a timed delay mode. Another possible mode is a “one shoot mode”. This will only focus on one point in the field of view, so your camera must be focused on it to capture the image.

Make sure you are pressing the shutter button all the way down. Only pressing the button halfway initiates the focus. If your camera still won’t take a picture, the shutter button may not be working properly. Try replacing it with this guide.

Your camera will not record video.

You may not have enough memory available to shoot video. Try a new memory card or delete old photos or videos to make room.

If your switch is set to video mode but won’t record, your mode switch may be at fault.

Your camera is on, but you can not see the screen display.

If your screen wont turn on you might have a low battery and will need to be charged.

Your screen may be damaged. Try replacing it.
