Step 2
- The first thing you’ll need to do is get a spudger of some sort and get underneath an edge. It doesn’t expressly matter which, I found starting at the front corner the the easiest.
- Work your way all the way around the edges, the cover is being held in place by rubber cement-like glue.

Step 4
- The bottom casing lets the drive fall out and you have two metal shielding pieces holding the drive in place with four rubber bumpers. The USB dongle is held in place with tape, but it’s easily pulled up and removed from the plug.

Step 5
- After the USB dongle is removed, there are four phillips screws on the sides that hold the two metal pieces in place. Once those are removed, the rubber bumpers are easily removed as they are only held in place by the cement as well.

Step 6
- The top cover slides backwards, away from the board to allow access to the 888GB drive. The drive pulls out from here and easily disconnects from the controller board.
