When one of the Keys of the Device are stuck the scale probably isn’t usable anymore. A simple disassembly can mostly solve this problem

Warning: the medical device has to be disassembled. With that a warranty and any calibration certificates expire.

What you need

  • Press the unlock-button, slide the scale pan backwards and remove it.
  • Theoretically this step isn’t necessary, but it makes further steps way easier.

Step 2

  • Turn the scale around.
  • Carefully remove the four Caps with a spudger or slotted screwdriver.
  • Probably you have to destroy the calibration stickers.

  • Remove the four 9mm Phillips #2 screws and their washers.

  • Lift the bottom plate up, move it to a side and lay it upside down on sie casing.
  • Be extra careful, so the cables of the battery compartment don’t get destroyed.

Step 5

  • Remove the four 10mm phillips #2 screws.
  • This screws have a pointed thread other that the main-casing screws. Don’t mix these up.
  • Then you can remove the controller-board.

Step 6

  • Check the faulty button for debris like sand or so.
  • Often just the disassembly and reassembly should solve it.
  • Check if the button can be pressed now.
  • Maybe use some lubricant on the buttons, so they glide through the holes.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
