What you need

Step 1

              Outer Case               
  • Remove the six screws from the underside of the console with a Phillips #1 screwdriver.

  • Flip the Sega Genesis upright.

  • Gently lift the top casing.
  • Note: the case will be connected to the main board by LED wires.

  • Bend out the LED leads into vertical positions.

  • Slide the LED wire apparatus off the lead pins.
  • Note: observe which color wire corresponds with which length of pin.

  • Separate the main board from the outer case.

              Motherboard               
  • Remove single black screw from the outside of the bottom cover, using a Philips screwdriver.

Step 8

  • Using a Philips screwdriver, remove 11 screws securing silver casing.

  • Remove silver case.

  • Remove single golden screw on motherboard using Philips screwdriver.
  • Note: Push headphone jack to the side.

Step 11

  • Remove two black screws on the left and right sides of the cartridge slot.

Step 12

  • Remove motherboard.

Step 13

  • Re-install new motherboard.

Re-install new motherboard.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
