  • Remove all the screws on the bottom with a screwdriver.

  • Slide the battery upwards to remove it from the laptop.

  • Pry the back panel away from the laptop using an opening tool.

  • Remove the screws from the fan.
  • Detach the fan’s wire from the motherboard.

  • Remove the fans from the laptop.

  • Use a brush or an electric fan to clean the dust on the fans.
  • Don’t use your finger to clean it because it may cause permanent damage to the fan.

  • Remove the screws from the CPU in the following order according to the index numbers beside the screws: 3, 2, 1.
  • When you reinstall these screws you should follow the order: 1, 2, 3.

  • Remove the heat sink from the laptop.
  • There is some old thermal paste on the copper section of the heat sink.

  • Use an alcohol wipe to clean the thermal paste on the copper sheet.
  • You must use an alcohol wipe since alcohol is volatile and will not stay inside the computer, unlike water.

  • Squeeze new thermal paste onto the chips.
