Introduction

If the screen is black and the camera does not turn on and take photos, the battery may have failed. Before beginning this process, it may be helpful to reference this troubleshooting page, which could help with addressing issues before having to go through the battery removal process. No special skills or technical degrees are required to understand this replacement guide.

Note: This replacement guide requires the use of improvisation through the use of simulated camera parts. This guide contains the use of tape and cardboard to substitute for a lack of parts, which would normally be critical to have to present an accurate replacement guide.

Helpful hint: Make sure that the faulty battery and replacement battery are handled with care.
