A close examination of the device reveals scratches, cracks, or chips in the screen.
If the LCD screen is indeed damaged, it is most likely the result of having been dropped. To fix this, use the replacement manual.
Over time devices often experience weathering as they are used. This is expected. It’s also expected for users to replace LCDs; follow the replacement guide for a step-by-step process.
Another possible source of the issue might be that the device’s screen came in contact with a sharp object, such as a key. To change out the LCD and amend this issue, follow this guide.
A blurry patch covers the viewfinder lens, either partially or completely, almost like a fogged window or mirror.
If a finger brushes against the viewfinder lens, it may leave a smudge. Removing the eyepiece lens will help to completely clean the viewfinder lens.
The eyepiece cup is allowing stray light to come into the viewfinder or has become worn and uncomfortable for the operator to use.
Regular usage can cause the soft eyepiece cup to become gritty and damaged.
Sometimes the inner plastic part of the eyepiece will crack or become disconnected from the soft eyepiece cup. This can allow for light to penetrate the viewfinder. You can remove and replace both parts of this component.
The diopter is unable to be calibrated, creating an optimal focus issue for the users to match their eyesight.
After a major drop, the diopter can crack, rendering it useless. This means that the camera user is no longer able to adjust the focus of the viewfinder. After removing the eyepiece cup you can access the diopter and replace the part itself.
User is unable to securely mount their camera onto a tripod.
Sometimes the screws that secure the tripod socket become loose. A loose tripod socket can cause an unstable connection between the tripod and camera, which can contribute to blurry pictures and the possibility of your camera falling off the tripod. To fix this you can remove the bottom plate using this guide and tighten the screws that secure the socket.
Sometimes the threading of the tripod socket becomes stripped, causing an unstable connection between the tripod mount and the camera. In this case the tripod socket can be removed and replaced.
