Sometimes the Blu-ray drive is locked, and you may need to unlock it. Turn on the Blu-Ray player, and check to see if D ON or LOCKED appears on the front panel. If so, you may need to unlock the disk drive. To unlock the disk drive press and hold the eject button on the Blu-ray player until D OFF appears on the front panel, the tray will open.

In case you put a disc in and the Blu-ray drive won’t open you can solve this issue very quickly. The recommended way to resolve this is to first power off your device, then unplug the power cord. The tray should open, with the tray still open, remove the disc and unplug the Blu-Ray player. The device will close the tray and reset.

Ensure that the disk is clean and/or does not have any scratches which might hinder the devices ability to read the disk.

Check the to ensure the device is plugged into a power outlet and is receiving power.

If the problem persists, you may need to replace the DVD reader.
